The Montana Standard featured the struggle of rural Montana DME providers and their patients in the wake of the nationwide rollout of competitive bidding. The story goes on to discuss the reality that patients are facing in rural areas like Montana where suppliers are no longer able to serve patients because of decreasing reimbursements through Medicare.
Featured in the story was Alesha Rate of Norco who also is the President of Big Sky AMES, Amy Rients, of Juro’s Pharmacy and Eric Ecker of St. Vincent Healthcare Medical Supply and Mobility. These three gave an extremely compelling argument against the nationwide rollout and continuous reimbursement cuts to rural areas.
