As campaign and election season is coming to a close after the final results are tallied on November 8th, the opportunity to meet with your elected officials will peak over this last weekend! Many Senators and every Representative are going to be hitting the campaign trails hard over this last weekend prior to the election. We encourage you to attend any campaign events or candidate forums for the best opportunity to discuss the issues of the industry before they head back to D.C. for the lame duck session!
Providers in Alabama had a last minute rescheduled conference call with the Washington D.C. office of Rep. Martha Roby (R-Ala.). The Congresswoman wanted to discuss how competitive bidding has impacted Alabama dealers and how things have changed since the reimbursement cuts went into effect.
The call was facilitated by Chris Sells, who is an Alabama State Representative and ADMEA board member, along with Don Jones of Southern Medical Equipment and ADMEA, Michael Hamilton, Executive Director of ADMEA and John Gallagher of VGM Government Relations. Rep. Roby’s staff was very positive about coming to a solution during the lame duck. Chris Sells along with the ADMEA state association have been extremely involved in meeting with the Alabama delegation and it has shown to pay off with the vast support from the delegation.
Thank you ADMEA and those providers that are working to gather support for these crucial efforts.
